What You Will See
Saigon city tour and the Central Mosque
The Independence Palace, the Central Post Office, Ben Thanh Market and the Saigon Central Mosque (1935) on Dong Du Street, the heart of the city’s halal food scene.
The Mekong Delta at My Tho
A boat trip on the Tien River to the islands, fruit orchards, coconut-candy making and a sampan ride through the small canals.
The Cao Dai Holy See and the Cu Chi Tunnels
The colourful mother temple of Caodaism in Tay Ninh, timed for the noon ceremony, and the wartime tunnels of Cu Chi on the way back. See our Cao Dai Temple guide.
Muslim shopping day
Day four is yours: your guide can take you to Ben Thanh Market, Saigon Square and the halal shops around Dong Du Street, or you can rest. Our Muslim shopping in Ho Chi Minh City guide lists the best places.
Halal Food and Mosques
Meals are certified halal wherever a halal restaurant is available; where there is none, we agree alternatives with you in advance, such as vegetarian dishes, seafood without meat or halal-friendly food. Ho Chi Minh City is the easiest place in Vietnam to eat halal: around the Saigon Central Mosque on Dong Du Street and in the Cham quarter there are many halal restaurants, and we reserve the ones we trust for your lunches and dinners. See our halal restaurants in Saigon guide. The Saigon Central Mosque (Jamia Al-Muslimin) at 66 Dong Du Street, District 1, is in the city centre and is part of the city tour.
Who This Tour Is For
Best for travellers who want an easy pace, good halal food and time to shop, with one hotel for the whole stay. It is not a sightseeing marathon – if you want to cover more of Vietnam in five days, combine Saigon with Mui Ne and Da Lat instead.
Pick another tour if
- Ho Chi Minh City Muslim Travel Package 4 Days – the same highlights without the free shopping day.
- Saigon – Mui Ne – Dalat Muslim Tour 5 Days – sand dunes and the highlands instead of a city stay.
- Hanoi – Saigon Muslim Travel Package 7 Days – if you want to add Hanoi and Halong Bay.

Local Expert Notes
Tips from Jimmy Nguyen, our founder, who has guided travellers around Vietnam since 2006:
- Bargain politely at Ben Thanh Market; fixed-price shops in District 1 are better for branded goods.
- Keep the shopping day flexible: if the weather is wet, malls and covered markets are the best plan.
- The Cao Dai noon ceremony is worth timing the day around.
- Carry repellent and a hat on the Mekong and Cu Chi days.
- Taxis by app are cheap and reliable in the evening if you want to go out on your own.

Prices vary by season and travel dates – send them through the Tour Inquiry form or on WhatsApp at +84 88 626 1368 for an exact quote.
4. Is this a private tour?
Yes. You travel only with your own family or group, with a private guide and a private air-conditioned vehicle, whatever your group size.
5. What is included in the package price?
Included: a local English-speaking guide (other languages on request), hotel accommodation with daily breakfast, the halal meals listed in the itinerary, private air-conditioned transport, entrance fees to the sights, a private boat trip in the Mekong Delta, and bottled water.
Not included: international and domestic flights, travel insurance, drinks and personal expenses, and tips for the guide and driver.
6. What should I know about visiting the Cao Dai Temple?
The Cao Dai Holy See in Tay Ninh is about 100 km from Ho Chi Minh City, about 2–2.5 hours by car. Visitors watch the colourful noon ceremony (12:00) from the balcony. Entry is free. Please cover your shoulders and knees, take off your shoes inside and do not use flash photography.
7. Do I have to crawl through the tunnels?
No. Going inside the tunnels is optional. Some sections have been widened for visitors and have exits along the way, and you can also watch from above ground. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, as the paths can be muddy after rain.
8. How far is the Mekong Delta from Ho Chi Minh City?
My Tho is about 70 km from Ho Chi Minh City (about 2 hours by car, depending on traffic). On the tour you take a private boat along the river and a rowing boat through the small coconut canals.
9. Do I need a visa for Vietnam?
It depends on your passport. Citizens of Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand can visit Vietnam for up to 30 days without a visa, the Philippines for 21 days and Brunei for 14 days. Travellers from the Gulf states, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh and India need an e-visa, which you can apply for on the official website evisa.gov.vn: it is valid for up to 90 days, costs 25 USD for single entry or 50 USD for multiple entry, and usually takes about 3 working days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months. Visa rules can change, so please check before you travel.
10. Which hotels are used, and is hotel breakfast halal?
You choose the hotel standard, and the price is based on a superior twin, double or triple room with daily breakfast. Hotel breakfasts in Vietnam are generally not halal-certified, although buffets usually include eggs, fruit, bread, rice and seafood or vegetarian dishes. If you need a halal breakfast, tell us when you book and we will advise which hotels can provide it, or arrange breakfast at a halal restaurant.
11. When is the best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta?
The dry season, from December to April, is the most comfortable time. From May to November it is the rainy season, but rain usually comes as short afternoon showers, so tours still run normally. See our Saigon travel guide.
12. Can I customize this tour?
Yes. Every tour on our website is a sample itinerary. As a private tour, you can change the dates, hotels, pace and sightseeing, add extra days, or combine it with other trips such as Ho Chi Minh City Muslim Package 4 Days, Saigon – Mui Ne – Dalat Muslim Package 5 Days, Southern Vietnam Muslim tours. Tell us what you would like in the Tour Inquiry form and we will send you a tailor-made program.
13. Is there a child price?
Yes. When a child shares a room and bed with two adults: children under 2 travel free (except for domestic flight tickets), children aged 2–6 pay 50% and children aged 6–11 pay 75% of the adult rate. From 12 years old, children pay the adult rate. An extra bed is charged separately, and some suppliers set their own child fees, which we will tell you when you book.
14. How do I book this tour and pay the deposit?
Send your travel dates and group size through the Tour Inquiry form on this page, or by email at muslimtours@vietnamtourexpert.com or on WhatsApp at +84 88 626 1368.
