What You Will See

Saigon and the Central Mosque

The Independence Palace, the Central Post Office, Ben Thanh Market and the Saigon Central Mosque on Dong Du Street.

The sand dunes of Mui Ne

Mui Ne is a fishing town on the south-central coast (formerly Binh Thuan province, now part of Lam Dong). The White Sand Dunes (Bau Trang) are explored by jeep, and the Red Sand Dunes nearer town are best at sunset. We also stop at the fishing village and the Fairy Stream when time allows.

Over the mountains to Da Lat

The road climbs from the coast to Da Lat, at about 1,500 m, through farmland and pine forest. Da Lat was a French hill station and stays cool all year.

Da Lat city tour and the Valley of Love

Xuan Huong Lake, the old railway station, flower gardens, the cable car over the pine forest and the Valley of Love park.

Halal Food and Mosques

Meals are certified halal wherever a halal restaurant is available; where there is none, we agree alternatives with you in advance, such as vegetarian dishes, seafood without meat or halal-friendly food. In Ho Chi Minh City we reserve halal restaurants. Mui Ne and Da Lat have very few halal restaurants, so on days two to four we agree the meals with you in advance: usually fresh seafood and vegetable dishes cooked without pork, or vegetarian food. We tell the kitchens that you are Muslim, but they are not halal-certified, and we prefer to say so clearly. See our halal restaurants in Saigon guide for your evening in the city.

The Saigon Central Mosque (Jamia Al-Muslimin) at 66 Dong Du Street is on the city tour. There are no mosques in Mui Ne or Da Lat.

Who This Tour Is For

For travellers who enjoy scenery and want more than a city break. The drives are long on days two and three, so it is less suitable for very young children or travellers who get car-sick. If certified halal food at every meal is essential, choose a Saigon-based package instead.

Local Expert Notes

Tips from Jimmy Nguyen, our founder, who has guided travellers around Vietnam since 2006:

  • Go to the dunes early in the morning or late in the afternoon – the sand gets very hot at midday.
  • Bring a warm layer for Da Lat: nights can drop to about 15°C, even when Saigon is hot.
  • Sunglasses and a scarf help on the windy dunes.
  • If you get car-sick, take something before the mountain road to Da Lat.
  • Book Da Lat flights in the morning or early afternoon; weather can delay late flights in the rainy season.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are the meals on this package halal?

Halal lunches and dinners are served as listed in the itinerary. Halal restaurants are limited in Mui Ne and Dalat, so we arrange the halal meals in advance, and seafood or vegetarian dishes are easy to find for other meals. See our guide to halal restaurants in Saigon for Ho Chi Minh City.

2. Are there mosques along this route?

Yes. In Ho Chi Minh City, the Saigon Central Mosque (Jamia Al-Muslimin) is at 66 Dong Du Street, District 1, surrounded by halal restaurants. You can also ask us to include a mosque visit in your itinerary. Read our guide to Islam in Vietnam for more about mosques and Muslim communities in Vietnam.

3. How much does this tour cost?

From USD 313 per person for a group of 21 or more in a 3-star hotel, and USD 646 per person for two or three travellers. In a 4-star hotel the price runs from USD 363 to USD 697 per person, and in a 5-star hotel from USD 456 to USD 792, depending on group size. Prices cover 4 nights in hotels with daily breakfast, the meals listed in the itinerary, a private vehicle with airport transfers, an English-speaking guide on days 1–4 and the entrance fees listed. The flight from Dalat is not included. Prices vary by season and travel dates – send them through the Tour Inquiry form or on WhatsApp at +84 88 626 1368 for an exact quote.

4. Is this a private tour?

Yes. You travel only with your own family or group, with a private guide and a private air-conditioned vehicle, whatever your group size.

5. What is included in the package price?

Included: a local English-speaking guide (other languages on request), hotel accommodation with daily breakfast, the halal meals listed in the itinerary, private air-conditioned transport, entrance fees to the sights, and bottled water.

Not included: international and domestic flights, travel insurance, drinks and personal expenses, and tips for the guide and driver.

6. How long does it take to travel from Saigon to Mui Ne and Dalat?

Mui Ne is about 200 km from Ho Chi Minh City, about 3–3.5 hours by car on the Dau Giay – Phan Thiet expressway. From Mui Ne the road climbs into the highlands to Dalat. Since July 2025, both Mui Ne and Dalat belong to Lam Dong province.

7. What is the weather like in Dalat?

Dalat sits at about 1,500 m above sea level, with cool spring-like weather all year and average temperatures of about 18–21°C. Evenings can be chilly, so bring a light jacket. The rainy season is from about April to October.

8. Do I need a visa for Vietnam?

It depends on your passport. Citizens of Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand can visit Vietnam for up to 30 days without a visa, the Philippines for 21 days and Brunei for 14 days. Travellers from the Gulf states, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh and India need an e-visa, which you can apply for on the official website evisa.gov.vn: it is valid for up to 90 days, costs 25 USD for single entry or 50 USD for multiple entry, and usually takes about 3 working days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months. Visa rules can change, so please check before you travel.

9. Which hotels are used, and is hotel breakfast halal?

You choose the hotel standard, and the price is based on a superior twin, double or triple room with daily breakfast. Hotel breakfasts in Vietnam are generally not halal-certified, although buffets usually include eggs, fruit, bread, rice and seafood or vegetarian dishes. If you need a halal breakfast, tell us when you book and we will advise which hotels can provide it, or arrange breakfast at a halal restaurant.

10. When is the best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta?

The dry season, from December to April, is the most comfortable time. From May to November it is the rainy season, but rain usually comes as short afternoon showers, so tours still run normally. See our Saigon travel guide.

11. Can I customize this tour?

Yes. Every tour on our website is a sample itinerary. As a private tour, you can change the dates, hotels, pace and sightseeing, add extra days, or combine it with other trips such as Ho Chi Minh City Muslim Package 4 Days, Cu Chi Tunnels & Mekong Delta Muslim Tour 1 Day, Southern Vietnam Muslim tours. Tell us what you would like in the Tour Inquiry form and we will send you a tailor-made program.

12. Is there a child price?

Yes. When a child shares a room and bed with two adults: children under 2 travel free (except for domestic flight tickets), children aged 2–6 pay 50% and children aged 6–11 pay 75% of the adult rate. From 12 years old, children pay the adult rate. An extra bed is charged separately, and some suppliers set their own child fees, which we will tell you when you book.

13. How do I book this tour and pay the deposit?

Send your travel dates and group size through the Tour Inquiry form on this page, or by email at muslimtours@vietnamtourexpert.com or on WhatsApp at +84 88 626 1368. Once you confirm the itinerary, a 30% deposit secures your booking, and the remaining 70% is paid on arrival, no later than 1 day before the tour starts. Full details are on our Deposit & Payment page.

14. Should I tip the guide and driver?

Tips are not included and are optional, but they are appreciated in Vietnam. As a rough guide, many travellers give a private guide about 200,000–400,000 VND (8–16 USD) and a driver about 100,000–200,000 VND (4–8 USD) per day, usually in an envelope at the end of the tour.

15. Is travel insurance included?

No. As an inbound tour operator in Vietnam we cannot sell travel insurance, so please buy full travel insurance in your home country before you travel. See our Terms & Conditions for details.

I & my wife recently had the pleasure of joining the Saigon – Mui Ne – Dalat Muslim Tour Package for 5 Days – 4 Nights, and it was an incredible experience! This tour is perfect for Muslim travelers who want to explore Southern Vietnam while adhering to their faith.

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) was our first stop, and it didn't disappoint. The city's vibrant atmosphere, historic landmarks, and bustling streets were fascinating. We visited iconic sites, learned about the city's rich history, and enjoyed the dynamic culture.

Mui Ne was a paradise. The beautiful beaches and serene environment provided the perfect setting for relaxation. The coastal scenery was stunning, and the local hospitality was exceptional. It was a great escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Dalat was the highlight of the tour for me. Nestled in the Central Highlands at 1,500 meters, Dalat's cool and refreshing climate was a welcome change. The city, often called the "Valley of Love," lived up to its name with picturesque landscapes and charming attractions. Exploring the local market and the city's unique sites was an unforgettable experience.

Throughout the tour, we stayed at Muslim-friendly hotels and enjoyed delicious Halal meals. Vietnam Muslim Tours – Asia Travel Expert Co., Ltd, did an outstanding job ensuring that our dietary needs were met. Even in places where Halal options were limited, they provided excellent vegetarian and seafood alternatives, ensuring all food was free from Haram ingredients.
The itinerary was well-planned and allowed us to see the best of Southern Vietnam without feeling rushed. The attention to detail and the focus on creating a Halal-friendly experience were truly commendable.

I highly recommend the Saigon – Mui Ne – Dalat Muslim Tour Package to any Muslim traveler looking for an enriching and enjoyable experience in Southern Vietnam. This tour offers a perfect blend of cultural exploration, natural beauty, and relaxation, all while respecting and accommodating Muslim dietary and religious needs.

Thank you
