Lunches and dinners in Hanoi, Da Nang, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City are served at halal restaurants, as listed in the itinerary. At Ba Na Hills the tour includes a buffet lunch, and we can book the halal Bharata restaurant on request. Meals on the overnight Halong Bay cruise are seafood, with no meat. If you would like halal meals on board, ask us to upgrade the cruise to Mon Chéri Cruises, which has a separate halal kitchen, as in our Halong Bay Muslim Cruise 2 Days 1 Night.

In Hanoi, the Al-Noor Mosque at 12 Hang Luoc Street in the Old Quarter is the only mosque in northern Vietnam. On the cruise you can pray in your cabin, so bring a prayer mat and a qibla app. Da Nang has no purpose-built mosque yet, but Muslims can pray at the musalla (prayer room) above Halal Food Karim, 186 Tran Hung Dao Street. In Ho Chi Minh City, the Saigon Central Mosque (Jamia Al-Muslimin) is at 66 Dong Du Street, District 1, surrounded by halal restaurants. This package is priced on request because the cost depends on the hotel standard you choose (for example 3, 4 or 5 star), your travel dates and your group size. Yes. You travel only with your own family or group, with a private guide and a private air-conditioned vehicle, whatever your group size. The only shared part of the trip is the overnight Halong Bay cruise and its shuttle bus, where you travel with other guests; we can arrange a private car to the bay on request.

Included: a local English-speaking guide (other languages on request), hotel accommodation with daily breakfast, the halal meals listed in the itinerary, private air-conditioned transport, entrance fees to the sights, a shared overnight Halong Bay cruise, the Ba Na Hills cable car and a private boat trip in the Mekong Delta, and bottled water.

Not included: international and domestic flights, travel insurance, drinks and personal expenses, and tips for the guide and driver.

The Golden Bridge (Cau Vang) at Ba Na Hills opened in June 2018. It is a 150 m walkway held up by two giant stone hands, with views over the mountains. It gets busy, so we try to visit it early.

Yes. Hoi An Ancient Town has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. It is about 30 km from Da Nang, about 30–45 minutes by car, and since July 2025 it has been part of Da Nang city.

No. Going inside the tunnels is optional. Some sections have been widened for visitors and have exits along the way, and you can also watch from above ground. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, as the paths can be muddy after rain.

It depends on your passport. Citizens of Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand can visit Vietnam for up to 30 days without a visa, the Philippines for 21 days and Brunei for 14 days. Travellers from the Gulf states, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh and India need an e-visa, which you can apply for on the official website evisa.gov.vn: it is valid for up to 90 days, costs 25 USD for single entry or 50 USD for multiple entry, and usually takes about 3 working days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months. Visa rules can change, so please check before you travel.

You choose the hotel standard, and the price is based on a superior twin, double or triple room with daily breakfast. Hotel breakfasts in Vietnam are generally not halal-certified, although buffets usually include eggs, fruit, bread, rice and seafood or vegetarian dishes. If you need a halal breakfast, tell us when you book and we will advise which hotels can provide it, or arrange breakfast at a halal restaurant.

No. Domestic flights between cities are not included in the package price, and neither are international flights. Tell us your preferred flight times and we will add the domestic flights to your quote.

The most pleasant months are March to May and September to November, with mild temperatures and less rain. Winter (December to February) can be cool, with January lows around 10°C in Hanoi, while June to August is hot and humid with tropical storms. See our Hanoi travel guide for more tips.

The dry season, from about March to August, is the best time for beaches, Ba Na Hills and Hoi An. September to December is the rainy season, when heavy rain and floods can affect Hoi An. See our Da Nang travel guide.

The dry season, from December to April, is the most comfortable time. From May to November it is the rainy season, but rain usually comes as short afternoon showers, so tours still run normally. See our Saigon travel guide.

Yes. When a child shares a room and bed with two adults: children under 2 travel free (except for domestic flight tickets), children aged 2–6 pay 50% and children aged 6–11 pay 75% of the adult rate. From 12 years old, children pay the adult rate. An extra bed is charged separately, and some suppliers set their own child fees, which we will tell you when you book.

Once you confirm the itinerary, a 30% deposit secures your booking, and the remaining 70% is paid on arrival, no later than 1 day before the tour starts. Tips are not included and are optional, but they are appreciated in Vietnam. As a rough guide, many travellers give a private guide about 200,000–400,000 VND (8–16 USD) and a driver about 100,000–200,000 VND (4–8 USD) per day, usually in an envelope at the end of the tour.
