Is There a Halal Hotel in Vietnam? The Honest Answer (October 2026)
No. We found no hotel in Vietnam with a halal-certified kitchen, and almost every hotel serves alcohol in its restaurant, bar or minibar. Booking sites sometimes call a hotel "Muslim-friendly" because it has bidet sprayers or a prayer mat on request; that is helpful, but it is not halal food.
Halal food in Vietnam is real, though. Restaurants certified by Halal Vietnam (HVN) operate in the big cities, and Muslim-run restaurants and prayer rooms serve visitors. So we choose well-rated hotels close to that halal food, check every distance on the map, and tell you plainly what is and is not halal.
Choose Your City
Da Nang has the best halal food in central Vietnam: in October 2026 eight restaurants held a Halal Vietnam certificate, and the city’s main prayer room (surau) is upstairs at Halal Food Karim on Tran Hung Dao Street. Four of our hotels face My Khe Beach within 190–430 m of a certified halal restaurant; Fivitel is about 520 m from the prayer room.
Hoi An has no mosque, and we could not verify a halal certificate for any restaurant in the town. Tasty House (with a small prayer room) and Spice Route describe themselves as halal. Our four boutique hotels are 110–430 m from Tasty House and a short walk from the Ancient Town. If you need certified halal food every day, stay in Da Nang and visit Hoi An for an afternoon and evening.

How We Choose Muslim-Friendly Hotels
- Distance to halal food: each hotel is within walking distance or a short taxi ride of the halal restaurants and prayer rooms we checked.
- 3- and 4-star hotels with good rooms for couples and families at sensible prices.
- Ratings: strong Tripadvisor and Google Maps scores and no pattern of complaints about cleanliness or honesty.
- Transparent prices: dated prices for every room category we list on each hotel page.
Practical Tips for Muslim Guests in Vietnamese Hotels
- Breakfast: hotel breakfasts are not halal; eggs, fruit, bread and fish are the safer choices, or book room-only and eat at a halal restaurant.
- Minibar: we ask the hotel to empty the minibar of alcohol before every Muslim guest we book arrives.
- Prayer: ask reception for the qibla direction and a prayer mat at check-in.
- Families: several hotels have family rooms, suites or apartments; each hotel page lists every room type.
