What You Will See
Saigon city tour and the Central Mosque
The Independence Palace, the Saigon Central Post Office designed by Alfred Foulhoux, Ben Thanh Market and the Saigon Central Mosque, built in 1935 on Dong Du Street. Notre Dame Cathedral is under restoration and seen from the square.
The Cao Dai Holy See in Tay Ninh
About 100 km northwest of the city, the colourful mother temple of Caodaism holds a ceremony at noon that visitors can watch from the balcony. Read more in our Cao Dai Temple guide.
The Cu Chi Tunnels
A network of hand-dug tunnels used during the war, about 70 km from the centre. You see the hidden entrances, traps and underground rooms, and you can try a short, widened section of tunnel if you wish.
The Mekong Delta at My Tho
A boat crosses the Tien River to the islands near My Tho for fruit orchards, a coconut-candy workshop and a small sampan ride through the canals.
Halal Food and Mosques
Meals are certified halal wherever a halal restaurant is available; where there is none, we agree alternatives with you in advance, such as vegetarian dishes, seafood without meat or halal-friendly food. Ho Chi Minh City is the easiest place in Vietnam to eat halal: around the Saigon Central Mosque on Dong Du Street and in the Cham quarter there are many halal restaurants, and we reserve the ones we trust for your lunches and dinners. See our halal restaurants in Saigon guide. The Saigon Central Mosque (Jamia Al-Muslimin) at 66 Dong Du Street, District 1, is in the city centre and is part of the city tour.
Our guides know which restaurants on the Cu Chi and Mekong routes serve halal food and book them before the day starts; if the day runs late, we choose the restaurant that fits the timing.
Who This Tour Is For
Good for a long weekend, a stopover, or the first part of a longer trip. It is a city-based package: you sleep in the same hotel every night. It is less suitable if you want beaches or mountains – for that, see the Mui Ne and Da Lat package.
Pick another tour if
- Ho Chi Minh City Muslim Travel Package 5 Days – one more day for Muslim shopping and free time.
- Saigon – Mui Ne – Dalat Muslim Tour 5 Days – if you want sand dunes and the cool highlands.
- Cu Chi Tunnels & Mekong Delta Muslim Tour 1 Day – if you only have one free day.

Local Expert Notes
Tips from Jimmy Nguyen, our founder, who has guided travellers around Vietnam since 2006:
- The Cao Dai noon ceremony is the best time to visit the Holy See – we time the drive for it.
- The Cu Chi tunnels are tight and hot; there is no need to go in if you are claustrophobic.
- From May to November expect a short, heavy shower most afternoons – carry a light rain jacket.
- Dong Du Street around the Central Mosque is the best area for halal food on your free evenings.
- Bring repellent for the Mekong and Cu Chi days.

The Cao Dai Holy See in Tay Ninh is about 100 km from Ho Chi Minh City, about 2–2.5 hours by car. Visitors watch the colourful noon ceremony (12:00) from the balcony. Entry is free. Please cover your shoulders and knees, take off your shoes inside and do not use flash photography.
7. Do I have to crawl through the tunnels?
No. Going inside the tunnels is optional. Some sections have been widened for visitors and have exits along the way, and you can also watch from above ground. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, as the paths can be muddy after rain.

Travellers from the Gulf states, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh and India need an e-visa, which you can apply for on the official website evisa.gov.vn: it is valid for up to 90 days, costs 25 USD for single entry or 50 USD for multiple entry, and usually takes about 3 working days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months. Visa rules can change, so please check before you travel.
10. Which hotels are used, and is hotel breakfast halal?
You choose the hotel standard, and the price is based on a superior twin, double or triple room with daily breakfast. Hotel breakfasts in Vietnam are generally not halal-certified, although buffets usually include eggs, fruit, bread, rice and seafood or vegetarian dishes. If you need a halal breakfast, tell us when you book and we will advise which hotels can provide it, or arrange breakfast at a halal restaurant.
11. When is the best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta?
The dry season, from December to April, is the most comfortable time. From May to November it is the rainy season, but rain usually comes as short afternoon showers, so tours still run normally. See our Saigon travel guide.
12. Can I customize this tour?
Yes. Every tour on our website is a sample itinerary. As a private tour, you can change the dates, hotels, pace and sightseeing, add extra days, or combine it with other trips such as Ho Chi Minh City Muslim Package 5 Days, Saigon – Mui Ne – Dalat Muslim Package 5 Days, Southern Vietnam Muslim tours. Tell us what you would like in the Tour Inquiry form and we will send you a tailor-made program.

Children below 12 years old pay 50% of the adult tour price when sharing the room without an extra bed, or 75% with an extra bed. From 12 years old, children pay the adult price. Some suppliers set their own child fees, which we will confirm when you book.

Send your travel dates and group size through the Tour Inquiry form on this page, or by email at muslimtours@vietnamtourexpert.com or on WhatsApp at +84 88 626 1368. The best Saigon Muslim Tour Package: 4 Days/3 Nights!
Our group recently took the Saigon Muslim Tour Package for 4 days and 3 nights, and it was an incredible experience. This tour is perfect for Muslim travelers who want to explore the best of Southern Vietnam while adhering to their dietary and religious requirements.
The tour began in Ho Chi Minh City, where we visited some of the city's most fascinating attractions. The blend of modern and historical sites gave us a comprehensive understanding of the city's rich heritage. Our guide was knowledgeable and ensured we had a great time learning about the city's culture and history.
A standout moment was our visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels. It was fascinating to see this extensive underground network used by Vietnamese fighters during the Vietnam War. The guide provided detailed explanations, making the experience both educational and moving.
The one-day excursion to the Mekong Delta was another highlight. We got to experience the vibrant river life, which was truly unique and exciting. The boat ride through the delta, along with the visits to local markets and villages, gave us a glimpse of life in this bustling region.
Throughout the tour, we were served delicious Halal food at certified Halal restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City. The meals were well-prepared and thoughtfully catered to our dietary needs, ensuring a worry-free dining experience.
Overall, this Saigon Muslim Tour Package exceeded my expectations. It was well-organized, informative, and provided a wonderful blend of sightseeing, history, and cultural experiences. I highly recommend this tour to Muslim travelers looking to explore Southern Vietnam in a comfortable and faith-compliant manner.
Thank you very much & look forward for the next trip to Vietnam!

Great Ho Chi Minh Muslim Tour 4 Days – 3 Nights!
My trip was with my family of 7, 4 adults, 2 young adults and 1 teen. Our trip was for 3 and a half days and 3 nights. We visited the Cu Chi Tunnels, Ben Thanh Shopping Centre, Saigon Square, Mekong Town and Unicorn Island and had a City Tour of Ho Chi Minh to the Independence Palace, The Church in town, the old post office and the Mosque.
Our tour guide is excellent, he went above and beyond to give us the information we needed to know as well as extra information for whatever we asked. Because we only eat Halal food, our food was made to be halal. My daughter wanted to eat authentic Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup, but halal, and he asked the restaurant we were going to visit the following day to have it. He also guided us to which shopping areas we wanted to go and guided us through where the dodgy areas were so we kept an eye on our bags. I recommend Mr. Toung very very much. He is very friendly and super smiley.
The food we had was more than we ever expected. From buffet breakfast in a beautiful 3 star boutique hotel to being served over 7 side dishes with rice and soups for lunch and dinner. Rating food 11/10. We ate at Kampung Melayu in Ho Chi Minh City, Sabah Saigon Hotel and Sungai Mekong Mosque.
The hotel we stayed in is Sabah Saigon Hotel. A 3 star hotel in the process of undergoing some improvements but definitely not a bother. We had dinner here as well which was very very good. The rooms were clean, the view was great (we were on the 7th floor), the staff was super friendly and we even met the owner who is from Saigon who is in a partnership with a person from Sabah Malaysia, hence the name. Their restaurant is Halal and only serve Halal Food.
Overall my experience was short and sweet. Definitely would recommend Vietnam Muslim Tours – Asia Travel Expert Co., Ltd. May use the same agent to go to Hanoi in the future. InshaAllah.
Thank you
