Overview
This 1 full day excursion is organized for Muslim tourists with Halal Lunch, you will visit Cao Dai temple & Cu Chi tunnels. Cao Dai Great Temple was built between 1933 and 1955 in Tay Ninh - a province which is about 95 kms South East of HCMC, close to Cambodia border. The Cao Dai Temple is like a Walt Disney fantasia of the East. Its exterior is decorated with multi-colored dragons of all shapes and sizes competing for space with a number of swastikas. Above the main entrance is the all-seeing holy eye, the symbol of the Cao Dai sect. The interior is just as engaging as statues of Jesus Christ, Buddha and the Hindu god, Brahma, stand side by side.
Cao Dai Temple is the eclectic mix of colours and the amazing use of architecture create a space of beauty, spirituality with a somewhat surreal flavour to western palates! The Great Temple is 140m long and 40m wide. It has 4 towers each with a different name: Tam Dai, Hiep Thien Dai, Cuu Trung Dai, and Bat Quai Dai. The interior of the temple consists of a colonnaded hall and a sanctuary. Cu Chi district is well-known nationwide as the base where the Vietnamese mounted their operations of the Tet Offensive in 1968.
TOUR DETAILS:
08:00AM: Our tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel Ho Chi Minh City and depart for Tay Ninh. Upon arrival, we attend the fantastic mid-day temple service when the followers fill the hall wearing colored robes, a symbol of the curious combination of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism.
We drive to Cu Chi tunnels. Have lunch at a Halal restaurant before visiting Cu Chi tunnels. Another name of Cu Chi is “Steel land”. It’s where the army troops of the VC (Viet Cong) concealed themselves during the Vietnam war. The tunnel systems were created by local people over a period of years.
This huge construction was a habitation for villagers in the war time. With 3 levels of depth, it was never discovered by the US during the war despite its proximity to Saigon. Visit the fighting tunnel system with your local guide.
If you are that way inclined, you can purchase ammunition and fire a weapon of the war on the rifle range.
After visiting the tunnels, we drive back to Ho Chi Minh City. Tour ends at your hotel at around 17:00-18:00.
