What You Will See

The Marble Mountains

Five limestone hills just south of Da Nang, each named after one of the five elements. You climb Thuy Son, the largest, to see its caves, pagodas and the view over the coast.

Hoi An Ancient Town

The old port of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999, keeps its wooden shophouses, Chinese assembly halls and the 17th-century Japanese Covered Bridge. In the evening the streets fill with lanterns.

Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge

A long cable car ride takes you to the top of Ba Na Hills, about 1,400 m up, for the famous Golden Bridge held by two stone hands, Linh Ung Pagoda and the French Village.

The Bay Mau water coconut forest

Local boatmen paddle round bamboo basket boats through channels of water coconut palms near Hoi An – a relaxed, fun afternoon for all ages.

Halal Food and Mosques

Meals are certified halal wherever a halal restaurant is available; where there is none, we agree alternatives with you in advance, such as vegetarian dishes, seafood without meat or halal-friendly food. In Da Nang and Hoi An we reserve halal restaurants for your lunches and dinners. The exception is lunch at Ba Na Hills: it is a buffet, and your guide points out the seafood and vegetable dishes cooked without pork; a fully halal lunch in the French Village can be booked on request. See our halal restaurants in Da Nang guide for your free evenings.

Ba Na Hills has a prayer room for Muslim visitors. Da Nang has no purpose-built mosque yet; Muslims pray at the musalla above Halal Food Karim, 186 Tran Hung Dao Street.

Who This Tour Is For

Ideal for a first visit to central Vietnam, for families and for travellers who want a short, easy trip with good halal food. If you only have two days, a day tour may be enough; if you want Hue and the Hai Van Pass, ask us to extend the trip.

Local Expert Notes

Tips from Jimmy Nguyen, our founder, who has guided travellers around Vietnam since 2006:

  • Arrive at Ba Na Hills early on day two; the Golden Bridge is quietest in the first hours after opening.
  • Stay in Hoi An if you like evening walks – the lantern-lit Old Town is at its best after sunset.
  • Pack a light jacket for Ba Na Hills even in summer; it is cooler and often windy at the top.
  • Order tailored clothes on day one if you want them ready before you fly out.
  • From mid-September to November, check the weather: heavy rain can change the order of the days.

For 2–3 guests the price is USD 424 (3-star), USD 457 (4-star) or USD 523 (5-star) per person; see the full price table by group size and hotel class on this page. Prices may vary by season – contact us for the best price.

4. Is this a private tour?

Yes. You travel only with your own family or group, with a private guide and a private air-conditioned vehicle, whatever your group size.

5. What is included in the package price?

Included: a local English-speaking guide (other languages on request), hotel accommodation with daily breakfast, the halal meals listed in the itinerary, private air-conditioned transport, entrance fees to the sights, the Ba Na Hills cable car and the basket boat ride in the coconut forest, and bottled water.

Not included: international and domestic flights, travel insurance, drinks and personal expenses, and tips for the guide and driver.

Ba Na Hills is about 25 km south-west of Da Nang city, about 45–60 minutes by car. From the base station, Guinness-record cable cars take you up the mountain to the French Village and the Golden Bridge.

7. What is the Golden Bridge?

The Golden Bridge (Cau Vang) at Ba Na Hills opened in June 2018. It is a 150 m walkway held up by two giant stone hands, with views over the mountains. It gets busy, so we try to visit it early.

8. Is Hoi An a UNESCO World Heritage Site?

Yes. Hoi An Ancient Town has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. It is about 30 km from Da Nang, about 30–45 minutes by car, and since July 2025 it has been part of Da Nang city.

9. What is the Bay Mau coconut forest basket boat ride?

In the Cam Thanh area, a few kilometres from Hoi An Old Town, local boatmen paddle you through the Bay Mau water-coconut forest in round bamboo basket boats. The basket boats and life jackets are included in this tour.

10. Do I need a visa for Vietnam?

It depends on your passport. Citizens of Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand can visit Vietnam for up to 30 days without a visa, the Philippines for 21 days and Brunei for 14 days. Travellers from the Gulf states, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh and India need an e-visa, which you can apply for on the official website evisa.gov.vn: it is valid for up to 90 days, costs 25 USD for single entry or 50 USD for multiple entry, and usually takes about 3 working days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months. Visa rules can change, so please check before you travel.

11. Which hotels are used, and is hotel breakfast halal?

You choose the hotel standard, and the price is based on a superior twin, double or triple room with daily breakfast. Hotel breakfasts in Vietnam are generally not halal-certified, although buffets usually include eggs, fruit, bread, rice and seafood or vegetarian dishes. If you need a halal breakfast, tell us when you book and we will advise which hotels can provide it, or arrange breakfast at a halal restaurant.

12. When is the best time to visit Da Nang and Hoi An?

The dry season, from about March to August, is the best time for beaches, Ba Na Hills and Hoi An. September to December is the rainy season, when heavy rain and floods can affect Hoi An. See our Da Nang travel guide.

13. Can I customize this tour?

Yes. Every tour on our website is a sample itinerary. As a private tour, you can change the dates, hotels, pace and sightseeing, add extra days, or combine it with other trips such as Da Nang – Ba Na Hills Muslim Tour 1 Day, Vietnam Muslim Travel Package 9 Days, Central Vietnam Muslim tours. Tell us what you would like in the Tour Inquiry form and we will send you a tailor-made program.

14. Is there a child price?

Yes. When a child shares a room and bed with two adults: children under 2 travel free (except for domestic flight tickets), children aged 2–6 pay 50% and children aged 6–11 pay 75% of the adult rate. From 12 years old, children pay the adult rate. An extra bed is charged separately, and some suppliers set their own child fees, which we will tell you when you book.

15. How do I book this tour and pay the deposit?

Send your travel dates and group size through the Tour Inquiry form on this page, or by email at muslimtours@vietnamtourexpert.com or on WhatsApp at +84 88 626 1368. Once you confirm the itinerary, a 30% deposit secures your booking, and the remaining 70% is paid on arrival, no later than 1 day before the tour starts. You can pay by card through a secure 9Pay payment link (Visa, Mastercard, American Express or JCB, with a 3.3% bank fee), by bank transfer or by Western Union. Full details are on our Deposit & Payment page.

16. Should I tip the guide and driver?

Tips are not included and are optional, but they are appreciated in Vietnam. As a rough guide, many travellers give a private guide about 200,000–400,000 VND (8–16 USD) and a driver about 100,000–200,000 VND (4–8 USD) per day, usually in an envelope at the end of the tour.

17. Is travel insurance included?

Our visit to Hoian Ancient Town was like stepping back in time. This UNESCO World Heritage site is incredibly well-preserved, with charming ancient architecture and bustling markets.
